"Money for Selling Art" Troubling Concerns and Ethics with Program Services Monetary Incentive Discussions. The ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) waiver program is designed to provide essential support and services to individuals with brain injuries, helping them regain independence and lead fulfilling lives. There are troubling concerns when discussing financial incentives with participants. This concern along with many others, emphasize the importance of ethical considerations in disability rights and community support programs. Some people may feel as though they are forced to create art for the promotional benefits of the agency providers. Some people may ask; Am I compromising my time by creating artwork for promotional gains for the agency? Is the agency truly representing my interests, or are they more focused on their own profit margins? Is the agency using my art to promote their services, without paying me? Is the agency using my art to promote other companies, without paying me? Is the exposure I’m receiving through the agency translating into tangible opportunities and sales? Am I receiving a fair share of the revenue generated from sales and promotions of my art? What are all the ways I am creating money for myself? What are all the ways I am creating money for the agency? Have I made money selling art? While programs like the ABI waiver program play a vital role in supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries, it is essential to address the troubling concerns associated with discussing financial incentives. The ethical implications, potential exploitation, and conflicts of interest must be carefully considered to ensure that these programs prioritize the well-being and autonomy of participants above all else. Balancing financial incentives with the ethical principles of dignity, informed consent, and protection against exploitation is essential to uphold the principles of disability rights and support. ________________________________ #CTDOL #tbisurvivor #tbiawareness #tbirecovery #braininjury #CT #Medicaid #AquiredBrainInjury #Connecticut #communitysupport #CommunityCare #SupportedEmployment #Prevocational #ilst #PCA Serving all Connecticut communities including Waterbury, New Britain, Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven, Meriden, New London, Torrington, Norwich, Derby, Ansonia, Bristol, Windham, Danielson, Willimantic, East Hartford, West Haven, Naugatuck, Putnam, Killingly, Avon, Bethany, Madison ABI Resources provides support to individuals and families in collaboration with various agencies, including the Connecticut DSS, COU Community Options, DMHAS, SWCAA, WCAAA, Allied ACR, Access Health, CHR, and United Services.
