Position: ABI Resources Connecticut, 3rd Shift Specialist Description: The 3rd Shift Specialist at ABI Resources is a crucial role responsible for providing quality care and support to individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) during the nighttime hours, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the night. Responsibilities: Oversee the well-being of clients during the nighttime, responding to any immediate needs or emergencies. Assist clients with late evening and early morning routines, which may include personal hygiene, medication reminders, and preparation for bed or wake up. Monitor client's vital signs and behavior and report any significant changes to the supervisor or healthcare professional promptly. Maintain a quiet, restful environment for clients throughout the nighttime hours. Document observations and care provided during the shift, maintaining accurate records. Respond to any emergencies, implementing crisis intervention techniques if necessary. Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of client's room and common areas. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required, a degree in healthcare, social work, or a related field is preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or similar certification is a plus. Experience in working with individuals with ABI or related conditions is preferred. Ability to remain awake and alert during the night shift hours is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to empathize with and provide reassurance to clients. Proven ability to handle emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and effectively. Proficient in basic healthcare and record-keeping protocols. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
