"text": "Via Electronic Mail\nRE: OVW- 1462\n\nDear Requester:\n\nThis is to acknowledge receipt of your February 15, 2025, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, which was received in the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), U.S. Department of Justice, on February 17, 2025.\nA copy of your request appears below for your convenience.\n\nPlease be advised that we have not yet completed a search to determine whether there are records within the scope of your request. The time needed to process your request will depend on the complexity of our records search and on the volume and complexity of any records located. For your information, this office assigns incoming requests to one of three tracks: simple, complex, or expedited. Each request is then handled on a first-in, first-out basis in relation to other requests in the same track. Simple requests usually receive a response in approximately one month, complex requests necessarily take longer.\n\nAt present, we are denying your request for expedited processing. However, your request references misuse of government funds. To report waste, fraud, abuse, misconduct, or whistleblower retaliation within the DOJ you may contact the Office of the Inspector General at (800) 869-4499 or by email oig.hotline@usdoj.gov<mailto:oig.hotline@usdoj.gov>.\n\nYou may wish to narrow the scope of your request to limit the number of potentially responsive records or agree to an alternative time frame for processing, should records be located; or you may wish to await the completion of our records search to discuss either of these options. We are processing your request for records from 2020-2025.\nWe have not yet made a decision on your request for a fee waiver. We will do so after we determine whether the process of your request will result in any assessable fees.\nWe will respond to your request as soon as practicable.\n\nYour request is assigned to a member of our FOIA staff for processing. If you have any questions or wish to discuss reformulation of your request, you may contact OVW via e-mail at OVW.FOIA@usdoj.gov, or you may write to this office at:\n\nU.S. Department of Justice,\nOffice on Violence Against Women\n145 N Street NE\nSuite 10W.121\nWashington, DC 20530\nAttn: FOIA\n\nPlease include the above-referenced OVW FOIA number. Lastly, you may contact our FOIA Public Liaison at the above email address to discuss any aspect of your request.\n\nThank you,\nOVW FOIA"
